The T-RackS Tape Machine collection offers a combination of iconic sound with real-world workflow to make creating classic-sounding recordings faster and easier than ever.4 pieces of historyThe T-RackS Tape Machine Collection offers models based on 4 different machines:Tape Machine 440: The Ampex 440 series dates from the late 1960’s, and delivers an iconic, all-American sound. A fully-discrete machine primarily used for mastering, the 440B offers a rounded, enhanced bass and a silky presence on the highs and high-mids. It will leave your mixes sounding “finished†and well-presented to listeners.Tape Machine 80: The legendary Studer A80, produced from 1970 to 1988, has been called “the†European tape machine from this time period. More commonly used for multi-tracking, the A80 is subtle, not aggressive, with fully-discrete circuitry that adds a shine and glue to your tracks that will add a smooth and refined sound.Tape Machine 24: A model of the MCI JH24. First produced in 1980, the JH24 was a staple in US studios during the 1980s and offers tons of character that’s perfect for multi-tracking, with an op-amp-based design. It offers a more controlled and calm sound, but still provides an elegant shine and flow to your music.Tape Machine 99: The Revox PR99 was a stereo recorder produced by Studer in the 1980s. Similar to the A80 but with more modern electronics, the fantastic head design offers the flattest frequency response of the 4 machines, especially on bass. A standard for broadcast and classical music, it can also add a useful low-fi feel when used at lower speed.4 magic formulas: the Tape Machine Collection also lets you choose from 4 different tape formulations, each with its own unique harmonic character:- 250: Modelled after the 3M/Scotch 250 tape- 456: Modelled after the Ampex 456 tape- GP9: Modelled after the Quantegy GP9 tape- 499: Modelled after the Ampex 499 tape
