I need the convenience of a right angle plug for certain guitar's and I like to use them for my amps as well, because of how it takes the stress off the input jacks, which can delicate, on old amps especially.  Switchcraft quality is something you can always count on. The only thing I don't like about this design plug is the tendency for the screw cover to unscrew itself with normal use. Feels like I'm often having screw it back on.  I have used teflon tape before ($2 @ home depot in the plumbing section)by wrapping it onto the threads and then screwing the cover back on, which tends to hold it in place better.
