This song composed almost 70 years ago in France has become a jazz standard, performed and recorded by the most notable artists of the 20th and 21st centuries. This ballad setting captures a quasi-classical feel and a suggestion of Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata, that gives it a nostalgic quality and the hope that the audience might find "bluebirds in the spring" and in their "hearts a song to sing."
