Stunning musical moments abound in this beautiful motet. Most of us know the words from Britten's setting - they seem ageless. Here the harmonies are always caressing the words ever so tastily. There is a moment near the end when it sounds as if the song is finished. And then comes a blossoming of sound that would have been a mistake to miss.
