Great sound, easy interface
I've used symphonic libraries from a few companies- have a few favorite sounds on each- but it takes a bit of finesse (and editing) to get things right. I have not tried EVERY sample yet. I'm not sure if I'll ever get to all of them! Everything here is perfectly usable. Not too harsh, not wimpy. Expressive! The playing interface is quite intuitive. Those accustomed to controlling all sorts of parameters of their sounds with synth controllers will fall right in. Pianists may have a little bit of a learning curve... The gui is clear, and bloody obvious. I was looking for the orchestra- the pipe organ and harpsichord are just an awesome bonus. The Steinway is ok. I'm sure that i will find it useful somewhere, but i have other pianos (and a real one) that sound better. To me- your results/mileage may vary. Easiest install ever: push a few buttons, go to the garritan site and enter the s/n. They give you a pic of a "credit card" that you drag onto the gui of the standalone player. Yer done! My studio isn't hooked to the web, so i had to transfer the pic on a Usb drive. No problem. Thanks for the help with finding three software guys!
