Product Description
With dynamic, string-separation, and saturation characteristics similar to that of preamps found in tube amplifiers, the DOD Gunslinger from DigiTech is a versatile, MOSFET-based, distortion pedal. The MOSFET circuit in the Gunslinger clips gradually when overdriven, reacting to the dynamics of your guitar playing. This means when you play quietly or ease back on your guitar's volume knob, the Gunslinger will respond and output a cleaner tone. Inversely, if you increase the intensity of your pick attack or boost your guitar's volume, you will coax more aggressive tones from the Gunslinger.
On the front panel of the Gunslinger are Gain and Level adjustments for increasing the amount of distortion and the final output levels, respectively. Individual Low and High knobs provide tonal adjustment for fine-tuning your sound. Power can be provided via a standard 9V alkaline battery, with an optional 9 VDC power supply, or with an optional 18 VDC power supply for increased headroom. When not in use, the Gunslinger features true-bypass switching in order to completely remove its circuitry from the signal path, while a clear blue LED status indicator informs you as to whether the pedal is currently active.
