A Country Piano Christmas

This book presents extended solo piano settings of eight Christmas favorites plus a new take on “Brahms’ Lullaby,” all with a touch of country keyboard technique. Each intermediate to advanced arrangement is replete with anticipatory grace notes, a bit of western swing harmony and rhythm in the classic country style popularized by Floyd Cramer.  Author/arranger Devan Archer has added his own brand of challenging counterpoint.

The “Nashville Sound” has long been a presence in gospel, pop and rock music but appears here in a Christmas repertoire, perhaps for the first time. “Good King Wenceslas” and “God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen” have never swung so hard!
